Send Me An Angel is a wonderful, classic synthpop song. That chorus can get
stuck in my head for hours on end. I've not heard the original version, only
this 1989 version, but I have trouble seeing how that version could top this
one. Unfortunately, most of the rest of tracks throw in some rather gratuitous
guitar parts into the songs, which make the songs come off more as cheesy than moving.
The low point of the album is "Babies", in which a overblown/dramatic
background female vocalist and guitar part serve to take a lyrically serious
song and make it utterly annoying. "One Blind Love" is the only
real track that interested me other than the title track (and Dance mix thereof)
here. Aside from those tracks, I find myself hitting the skip button a awful
lot here...
