To be totally honest, I'm still deciding about this one. I heard a lot of good stuff about it when it was first released. And when I was in my hometown about 2 months ago, I was browsing though the local used CD shop, and found this CD. Real Life is a Australian band, but a week after I found this, I went to Australia and couldn't find a release by them to save my life. Anyway, this has a very harsh feel to it. A lot of guitars, heavy beats, and really freaky cover art. Knowing my hometown, somebody probably thought this was a heavy metal album, got it, and was sorely disappointed. The cover art is of a guy's head with spikes coming out of it. Definitely different. I do really enjoy the songs, Deep Sleep (both versions), and I Did What I Did, but this is a real deviation from what I'd call synthpop. I REALLY didn't like the song Girl Jesus. Maybe I just don't get it, but it just is a strange song and concept. I'm not sure how long I'll hold onto this one. It has some interesting tracks, but Is just too harsh in a lot of places.
